Brandeis University, Utility Master Planning Energy Analysis Design and Construction – Boston, MA 

Sebesta Blomberg was retained by Brandeis to conceptualize and implement a multi-phased utility infrastructure renewal program. The project began with a master plan that started with assessing the condition and performance of the existing utility systems, analyzing the data and developing recommendations for implementation. 

 

Sebesta Blomberg surveyed the campus central steam generation and distribution system, reviewed design documentation and collected and reviewed plant operational and fuel consumption data. Through this process, Sebesta Blomberg developed a recommended system upgrade program. 

 

It was determined that due to campus load growth; the electric service available to the campus from their electric utility had no capacity for future growth. Additional upgrades were also required, including replacing selected transformers and switches, installing new cable and cable ties, key interlock systems, sub-metering and power factor correction capacitors.
