University of Baltimore
After becoming a signatory of the PCC, the University looked for assistance in meeting the requirements of the Commitment. The first requirement was to calculate their carbon footprint and second was to develop a Climate Action Plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions over time. Sebesta Blomberg provided a determination of baseline greenhouse gas emissions, or carbon footprint, to the University. By studying the sources of data that contribute to their carbon footprint, we helped them design data collection procedures to strengthen the quality of data and facilitate their management of emissions in the future. Broad management strategies were also recommended that could help the University meet the commitment of zero net greenhouse gas emissions.
Sebesta Blomberg facilitated data collection, the process for setting goals and strategies to achieve the goals, and defining a roadmap for implementation of strategies. Sustainability initiatives put forth will reduce their carbon footprint by approximately 16 percent.
